Student Project
Fall 2024
Six Weeks
Letters to a young poet, the final for my book design course, is a series of letters between poets, Franz Xaver Kappus and Rainer Maria Rilke, discussing the creative process. Goals of this project were to have a focus on subtlety, abstraction, and typography, in addition to reflecting out own creative journey.
Growing up, I spent much of my time sketching in the margins of notebooks, papers, and agendas. It grounded me, both in my creativity and how I approached my learning. One of the most prevalent things I drew were dragons, and I knew that had to be utilized in this project. In addition to a graphite doodle, I also utilized Procreate, an important tool to how I approach my creativity today.
