Three Weeks

For my book design course at Drexel, we were assigned a series of novels to create covers  for, in my case, the Jackson Brodie series by Kate Atkinson. Jackson Brodie is a former police officer turned Private Investigator in the UK. Despite his tough outer shell, he has a large heart that drives his work.

The watercolor backgrounds were hand-drawn by me, and tie to the foggy and rainy weather of the series’ setting, as well as relating to story beats via shape and color. Obscuring the text behind the illustrative elements pay homage to the series’ mystery genre.
